Primavera

Might not look like much, but this sunshine coming into my balcony is incredible. It was snowing less than a month ago, and all of a sudden I’m questioning even wearing a coat.

Also, I’m in Portugal right now. I somehow forgot my camera. It’s hot and sunny out, big white clouds and quiet streets with jacaranda trees. Going to see Jazz and eat soul food shortly… can’t complain.

Paella

Side note: I learned how to make Paella last week from Guillermo. It’s probably the bitchin’est thing I’ve ever cooked and I took some pictures.

Consider this a preview of what I’m cooking all of you when I get back.

I’m having some unfortunate technical difficulties with my mac. Seem to have misplaced my hard drive/my over excited filevault is too in lust to dismount from the sparseimage, so until filevault decides it’s done (probably never) I’m going to have a hard time converting my digital files into something I can upload here. I have the necessary accouterments in the Bay Area, but unfortunately not in Spain. (BIG lesson: never use Filevault/update often) Thankfully I had all of my photos on an external hard drive, so I’ve only lost three years of university paperwork. (can you feel me cringing?)

Also, I’ve been shooting a lot of film. The chaos of it is kind of soothing, I’d forgotten how much I love it. Hopefully I never forget it again. Speaking of, I still have an old family heirloom Yashica that I cherish deeply and need to get serviced when I return to SF. Anybody have recommendations?

Anywho, it’s going to be a while until I get some photos up on here. I’m keeping quite busy. Spent the past weekend in Amsterdam celebrating my dear Danielle’s birthday. In a few days, I’m leaving for Germany and once there, embarking on a road trip with Lisa which will end in a Gogol Bordello concert and hopefully not our guts on the Autobahn. Five days after returning to Madrid, I’m leaving during the dark of night to drive to Morocco with my friend Badr. We’re spending 2-3 weeks down there, going to be in Marrakech for New Years. Very excited for all of this! Am hoping to update a few times from Morocco, so if you’re lucky maybe you’ll get to see me falling off of a camel or pencil rolling down a sand dune (I’m looking at you Zoe).
